About the Ford Taurus

The Ford Taurus is a sedan that Ford introduced at the 1985 Los Angeles Auto Show. Its first engine was a 140-horsepower 3.0-liter V6. The SHO model arrived in 1989 with a 220-horsepower V6. By 1992, the Taurus was the best-selling car in America, according to Ford. Ford built more than 8 million Taurus cars at the Chicago Assembly Plant. The last Taurus left that plant on March 1, 2019.1

Apple lists the Ford Taurus as compatible with CarPlay for the 2017 through 2019 model years. The Taurus ended production in March 2019, so the 2019 model year is the last one.
