About Cadillac
Cadillac is the luxury division of General Motors. William Murphy, Lemuel Bowen and Henry M. Leland established it on August 22, 1902. The original Cadillac emblem comes from the family crest of Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the founder of Detroit. General Motors bought Cadillac on July 29, 1909.12
In 1905 and 1912, Cadillac received honors for design breakthroughs such as the first electric self-starter and the use of precision interchangeable parts. Cadillac introduced the first mass-produced V8 engine in 1915. In 1930, Cadillac became the first domestic car maker to release a production V16 car.34
The current range includes the Escalade SUV, the Lyriq electric SUV and the Celestiq electric sedan. The main markets are the United States, Canada and China.1567
Cadillac cars sold in the United States since model year 1996 have an on-board diagnostic (OBD) system.8
