About Geo

Geo was a General Motors brand of small, affordable cars. GM launched it in 1989 to compete with Japanese imports. The brand ended in 1997.12

GM built Geo cars with three Japanese partners: Toyota, Suzuki and Isuzu. The Prizm was a Toyota Corolla. The Metro was a Suzuki Swift, and the Tracker was a Suzuki Sidekick. The Storm came from the Isuzu Impulse, and the Spectrum from the Isuzu I-Mark.12

After 1997, the remaining models moved to the Chevrolet brand. Chevrolet sold them until 2004.23

Geo cars from the 1996 and 1997 model years support OBD-II.4
