About Spyker
Spyker Cars is a Dutch maker of sports cars. Victor Muller and Maarten de Bruijn established it in 1999, and its headquarters is in Zeewolde, Netherlands. The logo refers to the earlier Spyker company, which made cars and aircraft from 1880 to 1926.1
The C8 is the main model line. Its variants include the Spyder, the Laviolette, the Aileron and the Preliator. Spyker cancelled the C12 La Turbie and concept cars such as the D12 SUV and the E12 sedan.1
Spyker bought the Midland F1 Racing team in 2006. In 2010, it bought Saab Automobile from General Motors for about 394 million dollars. Saab filed for bankruptcy in 2011.1
Sales peaked in 2006 with 94 vehicles. About 290 cars were built from 2000 to 2010. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2021, and in 2025 the trademark rights were sold and Victor Muller regained control.1
