About Lotus

Lotus is a British sports car maker. Colin Chapman and Michael Allen formed the Lotus Engineering Company on January 1, 1952. Its origins go back to 1948, when Chapman raced his first trials car.1

Since 1966, the Hethel site in Norfolk has been the home of Lotus. In 2017, Geely confirmed that it was buying a controlling 51 percent stake in Lotus.23

The current range includes the Emira, Eletre, Evija and Emeya. In April 2021, Lotus said that it hoped to sell only electric cars by 2028.45
