About Chrysler
Walter P. Chrysler founded the Chrysler Corporation on June 6, 1925. He formed it from the Maxwell Motor Company. The first Chrysler car, the Chrysler Six, went on sale in January 1924, before the company existed.12
In 1928, Chrysler started the Plymouth and DeSoto brands and bought Dodge Brothers. In 1934, the company introduced the streamlined Airflow models. These cars sold poorly because of production problems and a public preference for traditional styling.12
